Effective time management is essential for successful and profitable performance. Is it possible to learn how to manage time effectively and how to distribute efforts on achieving the established goals? Now I’m going to tell you about some main principles of time management and about some tips that will significantly simplify your life.
Planning is the beginning of effective time management. Rememberthat making a list of tasks correctly is much more important than following it – you have to set task priorities, the order of execution and deadlines. However, don’t become a hostage of your tasks. Try to plan your tasks so as to have some space for maneuvering.
Principle of Caesar – do some tasks simultaneously. I guess everymodern woman can and very often practices the given principle of time management. The main idea of this principle is simultaneous execution of two processes: some mechanical one (for example, ironing or cooking) and an intellectual one (for example, watching TV or thinking about a party).
Pareto Principle. According to Pareto Principle only 20% of your activity brings 80% of results. Thus, while planning your tasks, set priorities – what is really important, what is urgent and what can be left aside.
Principle of genuine interest. This principle says that we tend to perform more quickly and effectively what is interesting for us. Develop your interest to the established tasks, search for something new and useful for you in any boring work – thus, you’ll cope with them much faster.
Principle of stagnation. Having achieved certain success in some activity, we gradually lose interest in it and lose any desire to continue it. Try to expand the borders of your interests and find something beneficial for you in any activity.
Save your time. The ability to save time is significant in time management. It helps you get rid of unnecessary tasks or reduce to minimum the time on their execution. Get rid of the main time killers (useless telephone calls, coffee or tea breaks, surfing the Internet without some definite aims, etc.), try to automate your household routine (for example, buy a washing and dishwashing machine – it will allow you to have more time for yourself or your family), use fruitfully the enforced downtime (read a book, plan your next meeting, etc.).
Now, having an idea about basic principles of time and task management, you can manage your time more effectively, being able to achieve success and having more free time. Consider these principles seriously and apply the abovementioned principles systematically.
